Assistive Devices

The use of assistive devices for patient ambulation dates back to ancientry. Assistive devices serve many functions for a given patient:

  • Broadens the base of support.
  • Improves stability and balance.
  • Reduces weight load on lower limb.
  • Helps propulsion.
  • Conveys sensory cue through the hand(s).

Canes

Canes, made of either adjustable aluminum or wood, are the simpliest of the assistive devices. We offer a wide range of canes available for our patients:

Crutches

Axillary crutches provide the best trunk support and can transfer up to 80% of body weight. We can supply crutches of all three major types:
